Social Justice and Inclusion

The Social Justice and Inclusion Cluster works with marginalized communities to protect their rights and promote their access to justice and entitlements. This cluster directly engages with transgender communities, plainland ethnic minorities, Dalits, religious minorities, socio-religious communities, vulnerable migrants and their families, and community-based organizations representing these groups. The SJI cluster’s primary approach is to empower community groups, particularly young people from the affected communities, by capacitating them on legal awareness and pathways to effectively advocate for their rights. The activities of the SJI cluster align with national development frameworks for marginalized and vulnerable communities and the Sustainable Development Goal targets, specifically gender equality (5), reduced inequalities (10), and peace, justice, and strong institutions (16). Additionally, the cluster produces knowledge products and research materials about the rights of these communities and crafts advocacy materials and agendas for crucial legislative and policy reforms. The SJI cluster coordinates with other BLAST clusters to implement all its activities.
